Itinerary

Day 1 (L,D)

It's an early 6.45am departure from Adelaide on this amazing overland journey. You'll cruise through the scenic Adelaide Hills, before stopping at a small town to grab a bite to eat and a tea or coffee. There will be a stop for lunch just before entering Halls Gap in Victoria - the gateway to the famous Grampians National Park. You'll have a chance to look around, before checking in to your clean and comfortable overnight accommodation.

Dusk is when local wildlife such as wallabies, kangaroos, cockatoos and kookaburras come out to play. You'll see lots of furry and feathered locals during a guided bushwalk of around one hour through rocky terrain and forests of gum trees to The Balconies - one of the Grampian's stunning geological formations. After dinner, it's off to bed in preparation for a big day tomorrow.

Day 2 (B,L,D)

After breakfast, you'll head off on a two-hour hike to The Pinnacle - probably the finest viewing point in the Grampians. You'll also visit the Brambuk Cultural Centre to learn about local Indigenous culture and heritage.

Sadly, it's time to depart the Grampians, but your lunch stop is truly spectacular: The Tower Hill Reserve - which is home to wetlands, a lake, abundant wildlife and a dormant volcano.

From here on, the magnificent Great Ocean Road beckons! You'll stop at several extraordinary rock formations along the Shipwreck Coast, such as the Bay of Martyrs, London Bridge and Loch Ard Gorge. For many, the biggest highlight of the tour is seeing the famous 12 Apostles. This spectacular collection of limestone sea stacks - which have been carved out of the coastline over thousands of years - is best appreciated at sunset.

After dinner, you'll get settled in to your Great Ocean Road accommodation.

Day 3 (B,L)

The day begins with breakfast and an easy one-hour walk through the Great Otway National Park - which boasts some of the world’s oldest temperate rainforest.

From there, you'll continue on along the Great Ocean Road, which was constructed by returned servicemen following WWl. There are plenty of sightseeing stops and you can take a quick dip in the ocean or explore the artistic coastal villages of Apollo Bay and Lorne. You'll also have the opportunity to watch surfers in action at famous Bells Beach, and spend some time exploring Torquay (the birthplace of surf brands Rip Curl and Quicksilver). As the sun starts to set, you'll head towards Melbourne - arriving in the bustling CBD at around 7pm.

This 3 Day Adelaide to Melbourne Tour offers a once-in-a-lifetime road-trip adventure through some of the most beautiful parts of Australia. Enjoy!
